
The Accountancy Advisory Group (AAG) held its semiannual meeting on April 18 and 19. The theme of the meeting was outreach. Members participated in the creation of videos to promote the accountancy profession and Miami’s programs. Guest speaker Mike Siman, director of development at the Farmer School of Business, spoke about building alumni connections. The group spent time taking a fresh look at the AAG charter, membership, and committees, as well as plans for refreshing the department’s website.
Third-year accounting major Ally Secor, who runs the department’s social media accounts, gave a presentation to educate the group about social media basics, the types of content that are posted, and some audience engagement statistics for our accounts.

The meeting ended with an executive session. The next AAG meeting is scheduled for September 27, 2024.
