Vision<\/td>\n \n

The MU Advising Assistant aspires to improve the advising experience at Miami University by:<\/p>\n

  • Providing students with faster, more accessible advising support.<\/li>
  • Enhancing decision<\/li>
  • making by guiding students through program requirements, scheduling, and multi<\/li>
  • major planning.<\/li>
  • The problem domain is academic advising inefficiency \u2014 students often face delays or confusion when navigating course requirements and program planning, while advisors spend significant time answering routine questions or checking reports.<\/li><\/ul><\/td>\n <\/tr>\n\n
Mission<\/td>\n \n

The MU Advising Assistant will provide:<\/p>\n

  • A student portal with personalized recommendations, course planning tools, and a cleaner DAR representation.<\/li>
  • An advisor dashboard to monitor DARs, student progress, and advising interactions.<\/li>
  • Integrated forms to streamline advisor contact and routine administrative requests.<\/li>
  • Compliance with academic policies and FERPA standards.<\/li>
  • The system will be built with PHP\/Laravel, a database of programs\/requirements, and CAS authentication for student\/advisor roles.<\/li><\/ul><\/td>\n <\/tr>\n\n
