Our lab participates in a variety of community outreach events.
Brain Awareness Week: This week is dedicated to raising community awareness of neuroscience and neuroscience related diseases and conditions. Every year, members of our lab work with the Nu Rho Psi (a national honor society with a local chapter at Miami University) to organize and participate in the event.
Talawanda Science Week: We have the privilege of helping host grade school kids from the community as we explain some of the basics of neuroscience and perform various demonstrations that involve the kids and get them excited about how our bodies work and function.
Girls Science Day Out: We have the opportunity to share about our research with girls interested in STEM fields. Our theme this year is “blood tissue barriers keep you healthy”.
