But since several students typically attend, I have provided some tips and links here for the curious. Also feel free to ask faculty members and second years about their experiences. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Our institutional membership with AWP gives you a student membership. You should receive an email from them, but you must confirm. connect.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>AWP also has options to attend the conference virtually.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.awpwriter.org\/awp_conference\/registration_workexchange\">work-exchange&nbsp;<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.awpwriter.org\/awp_conference\/registration_workexchange\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">program<\/a>&nbsp;has a deadline of about January 5th (that was the deadline for 2024).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Teaching Links:<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1LAt3HxYkkbBSwk6Y--0nSb19S3fn3zD0uXQU9o3Ri0w\/edit?usp=sharing\">King Library workshops<\/a>&nbsp;you can arrange for your ENG226 classes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the creative writing section of ENG 607 (teacher training), we build an extensive resource library for teaching.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Expectations<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Miami University\u2019s Graduate School\u2019s&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/miamioh.edu\/graduate-school\/student-resources\/responsibilities.html\" target=\"_blank\">Statement of Student Responsibilities<\/a>, your instructors and the university will expect you to:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Work to the best of your ability and attend class according to the university regulations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be attentive during class and participate constructively in class work.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete the work you are assigned and submit it on time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prepare work that is honest, independent, and original.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Show respect and courtesy for them and fellow students while being open to the ideas of others.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be open to constructive criticism directed at correcting your academic errors and developing your scholarly abilities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide them with constructive criticism that is aimed at improving your learning experience.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Abide by university regulations prohibiting academic misconduct.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Endeavor to ensure that the learning environment is free from ableism, sexism, racism, and other forms of prejudice that negatively influence student learning.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">ADDITIONAL MFA-program Specific Expectations <\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Workshop:<\/strong> Good citizenship = presence, attention, kindness and preparedness<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Submitting work and peer responses <em>per schedule<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Attending readings &amp;
