The London Telegraph commissioned the<br>\npiece in 1967 when Marisol began her ascent as a recognized<br>\nartist. The work is a 1986 gift from Paul and Mona Doepper<br>\nwho purchased the piece in 1983. The larger-than-life-sized<br>\nmixed-media piece typifies Marisol\u2019s work in the 1960s. While<br>\nsculpture came naturally to Marisol, she trained with Abstract<br>\nExpressionist painter Hans Hofmann.
