Removing or Updating a WordPress User
Miami WordPress site administrators can remove one or more users from their WordPress site. To do this, log in and navigate to the Users page from the left menu off of the Dashboard. You should have a list of every user who has access on the Users page. If you hover your mouse over a person’s name, you will see additional links for Edit, Delete, View, and Send Password Reset.
Deleting a User
When you choose to Delete a user, you will see a screen with two options: delete all content belonging to that user, or keep that content and assign it to a different user. You must choose one of these options before you can fully delete a user.
Important Note:
Removing a WordPress user from your site doesn’t remove them completely from the system. A person might have access to multiple Miami blog sites. To completely remove a user, they must be deleted at the Network Administrator level.
Updating a User
If you don’t want to fully remove someone from your site, you can choose to restrict their access instead. From the Users page, choose Edit. On their profile, you can now change their role to a role with less access such as a Subscriber who cannot edit the content. Read more about WordPress’s roles and permissions.
