Shaiman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last year, the Miami University Art Museum once again opened a call for student art, continuing the tradition of holding a Student Response Exhibition (SRE). Talented Miami students submitted fifty-five pieces of art in conjunction with this year\u2019s theme of Sovereignty. Thirty-one artworks are featured in the semester-long exhibition titled <a href=\"https:\/\/www.miamioh.edu\/cca\/art-museum\/exhibitions\/22fa-sre-interconnected\/index.html\"><em>Interconnected: Land | Identity | Community (A Student Response)<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The SRE offers visitors the opportunity to cast a vote for their three favorite works in the exhibition via a kiosk in the gallery (<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSd3gRpj9w_K6UZRwFTlEfeUFqh98ESpWAvf4ljU6xE3jrIZIg\/viewform\">or online here<\/a>). Winners will be announced at a special reception and celebration of student creativity on Wed, Nov 9, 2022, at 5 PM during a public awards ceremony, the<em> <\/em>students who receive the three highest number of votes receive cash prizes sponsored by the Art Museum Members Association and the Art Museum Student Organization (AMSO).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The exhibition is open to everyone, so make sure to visit the museum to view Miami students\u2019 work, along with other exhibitions on display this semester. In <em>Interconnected, <\/em>sovereignty includes inherent and retained political rights and cultural integrity. Three key factors in maintaining Tribal Sovereignty are land, identity, and community. This theme, which was broadened for students to allow for wider contextualization, is also connected with the 50th anniversary of the relationship between the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma and Miami University.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\"><p>By Sarah Snyder, Marketing and Communications Intern (Fall 2022) and Curator of Exhibitions, Jason E.
