Our fifth Student Response Exhibition, Outside the Box<\/i>, is open, and you can come check out the unique creations of 34 students (and vote for your favorite)!<\/p>\n
This is our next post in a series featuring the student artists who have created one or more pieces displayed in Outside the Box<\/i>.<\/p>\n
Meet our featured artist, Anna Cadle<\/b>!<\/p>\n
Anna<\/b> is a Junior Studio Art Major (Painting & Printmaking), with minors in Graphic Design & Art and Architecture History, from Fairfield, OH!<\/p>\n
She came to Miami for the opportunities she saw, as a musician and an artist. At Miami, Anna<\/b> is a member of the Miami University Marching Band. She enjoys sketching, reading, writing, and playing music. Her favorite genre of art is hyper-realism, and her dream job is to work as an Illustrator.<\/p>\n
The Student Response Exhibition asked students to think beyond physical limits with the concept of a box. For Anna\u2019s<\/b> piece, titled Shattered Crane<\/i>, she states,<\/p>\n
“This is a monotype print with origami cranes in soft pastels. Origami cranes are made from a box or square piece of paper and folded into a three dimensional bird. To think outside this box, I explored the shapes within the origami crane and overlapped them in a manner that creates a sensation of space without giving any other context.”<\/i><\/p>\n
