This is his third time participating in a Student Response Exhibition, with works previously seen in the exhibitions Conflict & Resolution and Creativity + Innovation.

He came to Miami for the ideal school size and liberal arts education. At Miami, Sabik is a member of the Miami Student. He enjoys traveling, drinking coffee, and visiting art museums, and his favorite genre of art is Impressionism and Pop Culture. His dream job would be to work as a Product Designer!

The Student Response Exhibition asked students to think beyond physical limits with the concept of a box. For Sabik’s photo, titled Void, he states,

“History stands testament to how transparency affects the perception of objects and events, and this is an homage to that very notion. This photograph was taken at a temple in Nepal, surrounded by eerie windows that collected donations. To an outsider, for all they know this is a con. For the inquisitive, a high religious investment would be required to be convinced otherwise. What is key to understand here is that faith is not always transparent and might even feel a bit boxed in, but the inclination to conceive this as a con is also a box itself.”

Come see the exhibition and vote for your top three favorites! Voting will continue until April 6 and the exhibition celebration and awards ceremony will be held on April 9, from 7-9 p.m.

By Olivia Semsel, Arts Management Intern Our fifth Student Response Exhibition, Outside the Box, is open, and you can come check out the unique creations […]

"_s2mail":"

33

post-1624","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-student-response-exhibition
["GET
