Meet Heather Burich, a Senior at Miami, majoring in History with minors in Art History and Museums in Society!

In the Spring of 2018, she worked as a Curatorial Intern at MUAM assisting Jason Shaiman, Curator of Exhibitions, to develop and design an exhibition of Rockwell Kent prints, titled Lonesome Traveler, which is currently on display.

Currently, she is interning in the Collections department under Laura Stewart, Collections Manager/Registrar. Heather has dedicated her undergraduate experience to scholarship and research as an Undergraduate Associate, Humanities Apprentice, Altman Fellow, and recipient of Departmental and University Honors with Distinction with her qualifying thesis “The Outsider: Emily Shanks and Female Artistic Agency in Nineteenth Century Russia.”

This past summer she was selected to be a participant for the Chipstone Foundation’s Object Lab 10.0 Program, an object studies and material culture intensive held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She is a proud member of campus greek life and for the past year has served on Panhellenic Association’s Executive Board as Executive Vice President. Heather hopes to attend graduate school for Art History and work in a museum/non-profit environment.
