Meet Ethan Clearfield from Richboro, Pennsylvania!
Ethan is a junior American Studies student with a co-major in Arts Management and a minor in both Museums and Society and Archeology. He is currently a curatorial intern for Jason Shaiman and is working on an upcoming travel poster exhibition. Last year, Ethan was an Arts Management intern and worked with both Collections and Marketing/Communications. When working with collections, Ethan compiled object files for the 2016 acquisitions. For Marketing/Communications, Ethan created the Over Here! Over Here! website and online exhibition. He also worked on the exhibition, Telling a People’s Story by editing and compiling illustrator testimonial video biographies.
When looking for schools to go to, Ethan wanted a medium-size university with good academics and a D1 roller hockey team—he found it here at Miami. Ethan is a Resident Assistant in Dorsey Hall, a member of Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity and Beta Theta Pi Fraternity, a member of Chabad and Hillel, and the President and Treasurer of the Roller Hockey team. Rumor has it, the team is looking pretty good this year, so go out and support!
Away from classes, Ethan absolutely loves to collect antique advertising signs. When he isn’t looking to expand his collection, he can be found playing futsal, roller hockey, or geocaching. Ethan’s favorite place to eat uptown is Wild Bistro and his favorite food is bagels. If he had to pick his favorite arts and culture venue, it would be the Franklin Institute, one of the most popular museums in Philadelphia. Ethan’s dream job would be to open his own museum-filled with his own collection of antique advertising signs!
