Meet Berenice Acevedo from Chicago, Illinois!
Berenice is a junior triple major in Spanish, Spanish Education, and Latin American Studies. If she wasn’t busy enough, Berenice is one of MUAM’s incredible student receptionists. She works at the front desk and helps out with any events or presentations hosted by the museum throughout the year.
Besides classes and working at the museum, Berenice is a SPOT Tutor (Spanish and Portuguese Open Tutoring) which is a program that allows students to drop in to get a lesson clarified or practice their speaking in a foreign language. In addition to her hours at SPOT, she is also in the Association of Latin American Students (ALAS) and part of Miami University’s Foreign Language Association (MUFLA). Outside of school, Berenice can be found taking beautiful pictures or playing the ukulele. She also enjoys sketching, reading, cooking and writing. While in Oxford, her favorite place to eat is Mac and Joe’s and her favorite food is pozole. If she had to pick a favorite art museum, Berenice would say the Art Institute of Chicago. After graduating, Berenice’s dream job would be to teach abroad!
