Meet Caroline Bastian from Orange County, California!
Caroline is a sophomore at Miami who is majoring in Art & Architecture History and Arts Management and minoring in Museums & Society. This semester, Caroline is a Curatorial Intern at the Miami University Art Museum (MUAM) working on an upcoming exhibition about African-American cultural identity as portrayed through illustrated children’s literature. She is working with Curator of Exhibitions Jason Shaiman to select children’s books from King Library’s collection, identify artworks, write grant proposals, create a traveling panel exhibition that could broaden the scope of the MUAM exhibition, and organize a conference to be held in conjunction with the exhibition.
Caroline’s favorite arts/culture venue is the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) and her dream job is to be the lead curator at a large museum. On campus, she is involved in Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity and the Art Museum Student Organization (AMSO). La Piñata is her favorite place to eat in Oxford and her favorite food is french fries. She enjoys playing golf, spending time with friends, reading mystery novels, hiking, and going to the beach!
