Welcome

Hello! I’m Alex Habegger, a highly motivated and ambitious fourth-year student at Miami University, pursuing a B.S. in Computer Science, minors in Mathematics and Bioinformatics, and an M.S. in Computer Science. My academic journey has allowed me to develop a robust foundation in my fields of interest. Receiving a 3.69 GPA (Undergraduate) and a 3.92 GPA (Graduate). I’m actively researching quantum computing solutions to the protein folding problem. About Me

At Miami University, I’ve taken various classes that have helped me develop a strong foundation in computer science and related fields. These include Calculus I, II, and III, Statistical Modeling, Data Abstractions & Structures, Algorithms I, Systems I and II, Database Systems, and Bioinformatics Computing Skills. My hard work and dedication have paid off, as I have earned 130 credit hours and currently hold a 3.59 GPA.
Before attending university, I graduated from Wadsworth High School as a Salutatorian, with a 4.498 GPA and a 35 ACT score. My achievements include joining the National Honor Society and earning a Varsity Letterman for Swim.

My technical skills encompass a range of programming languages and tools such as C++, Python, Java, SQL, Bootstrap, Website Development, Django, and R. I’ve also had the opportunity to apply these skills in various internships and work experiences. To highlight this, as a Tech Lead Intern at Mobile Health Consumer in the Summer of 2022, I worked with the Product Innovation Team, implementing and manipulating data structures using Python-based programming to meet client specifications within a team structure using Agile development through the Jira program.

My other work experiences include being a Dockboy & Expeditor at Pick’s at PLX during the summers of 2020 and 2021, where I managed a large restaurant’s docks and boat traffic, and a Line Cook at Marie’s Italian Restaurant in the Summer of 2019. Furthermore, I worked for my family business, J. Habegger Properties, as a Laborer & Website Manager between 2014 and 2018, handling manual construction and creating the company’s responsive and styled website. Outside of academics and work, I’m an Eagle Scout from Boy Scout Troop 402, an active Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity member, a certified lifeguard through the American Red Cross, and a competitive Miami University Fencing Club member.
