Track 1, 6:15 PM
CLIENT: Matt Benzing, Meng Qu, University Libraries |
PROBLEM STATEMENT: |
Tracking library usage at Miami University has proven quite beneficial in the past for administrators; however, the tracking itself is quite difficult as previously it had to have been done manually. Ideally, a system would be set up to automatically gather this data. |
PROJECT PURPOSE: |
The purpose of the Miami LibTracker project is to create a system that monitors locations of active devices in Miami University Libraries using data from Cisco, perform some basic analysis of that data, and store it in a database. This is a sister project to the Miami LibFinder, which is focused more on paths users take through the same libraries. |
