MBL Inhibitor Website

Session II, 7:10 PM EDT

CLIENT:
Dr. Michael Crowder, Miami University, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry
PROBLEM STATEMENT:
Bacterial infections are most successfully treated using Beata-lactam antibiotics. This status is at risk though as they are becoming increasingly vulnerable to inactivation and therefore antibiotic resistance by a growing number of Metallo-beta-lactamases (MBLs).

In order to counter this problem, scientist have been working to identify MBL inhibitors and to introduce said inhibitors into beta-lactam antibiotics.
PROJECT PURPOSE:
Our team needed to build the first website specifically about MBL inhibitors in an effort to share and store knowledge in this research community.  Users can access currently known inhibitors, submit new inhibitors, or collaborate by submitting their lab and findings to be published and shared on our website.
TEAM MEMBERS:
